I recently picked up this romance novel without the fantasy element, and let me tell you, it was a pleasant surprise. Rhett Eaton gives off those Yellowstone vibes – you know, the kind that makes you swoon over a cowboy. And who doesn't love a good cowboy story, right? Summer, the main character, is all fire and spirit. I appreciate that she doesn't let Rhett push her around – it's nice to see some backbone in a character.
The story has that enemies-to-lovers thing going on since Rhett isn't too keen on Summer at first. But the way it all unfolds, with the pacing, character development, and conflicts, you'll find them taking a turn from being foes to falling in love. It feels natural and real, and watching Rhett and Summer's love story play out is just sweet.
Now, let me mention the spice level – it's chef’s kiss. It's everything you'd hope for, and the best part is that it's woven into the plot, not just thrown in there for the sake of it.
And oh boy, this book got me hooked. I even downloaded the audio version so I could keep listening in the car – didn't want to put it down. Chapter 27 had my jaw on the floor.
